When we’re talking about bullying we do it from rejection. That’s why we always think about respect, apathy, solidarity and lots of synonyms when we talk about bullying. But, does it happen the same when we refer to famous people, influencers or television faces? Of course not. On social networks, we can appreciate that there are many comments attacking these people. Do you know what’s the worst part? In most of these occasions, we don’t see these attacks like bullying or, in this case, cyberbullying.
When Demi Lovato was a kid, she suffered bullying // Seventeen. |
One of the last cases is Belen Esteban’s daughter’s, Andrea Janeiro. The teenage girl has been a known face since she was born, but pixelated. Last week they organized a party to celebrate her 18th birthday and for the first time in history, the first photos of Andrea were published, legally.
Social networks were flying for Andrea’s first photos and commentaries were terrible.
‘Please, pixel her face again.”// Twitter |
Are all these attacks fair for a girl who’s recently 18? Is it just because she’s someone’s daughter? As we can see, people still don’t understand how this can hurt to the girl who just wants to celebrate her birthday, her wanted 18th birthday. Does she have to bear all this criticism just for being the daughter of two famous people? I am repeating, but to be honest, I don’t think so. Neither she nor anyone.
Spijt! A film about bullying // Twitter |
In the end, it looks like behind the social networks everyone is braver. Insulting, judging someone by his appearance and scorned some people with an avatar or username is not loyal. It isn’t logical. It isn’t moral. And it isn’t fair for a person who’s just become an adult. No one should suffer anything similar. If all of us are defending
#StopBullying, let’s try to make it in
every way.
